Pre-Christmas Festival hits Jamestown

The non-profit JayNii Streetwise Foundation is to hold a pre-Christmas Festival for children from Jamestown and its surrounding areas on Saturday December 13.

The Pre-Xmas Festival is expected to start from 1600 hours at the JayNii beach behind the Lighthouse Chapel at Jamestown.

A mixture of artists and performers from Ghana as well as JayNii’s cultural troop will feature at the festival.

Great musicians like Wanlov Kubolor, Nii Tackie (Mr. Ghana), Aleyi and Jason KLEATSH will perform to support the good cause, a statement signed by Mr Alex Kucharski, a Volunteer at JayNii Streetwise Foundation to the Ghana News Agency in Accra stated.

The statement said: “Our variety of dancing, drumming, and singing acts will guarantee something for everyone!

There will also be a children’s programme of handicraft work and sports activities for the children whom the foundation supports. We want to make it a joyful Christmas for the children.

“Therefore we will use the donations from the event for the completion of the two classrooms we are currently building and for small Christmas presents for the children who have so little”.

The JayNii’s Streetwise Foundation is a grass-root charity that aims to improve the lives of street children in Jamestown, by providing them with access to education, shelter, food, and entertainment.

So far 80 children, mostly orphans and single-parent children, have joined the Streetwise Project and are been given the opportunity to fulfil their dreams and potential.

All proceedings of the event will go to the foundation to support disadvantaged children from Jamestown.
