KWAHU COUNCIL

The District Chief Executive for Kwahu South, Mr.. Opoku Preko. has appealed to Kwahu Citizens to pay up their property rates to enable more development projects to take off. He said the District Assemblies Common Fund is not enough for all their basic needs. There is therefore, the need to generate more funds to support it. Mr.. Preko was speaking during his formal introduction to members of the Kwahu Community in Accra. He noted that for many years, most of the citizens have not paid their property rates which is making the Assembly to rely solely on the Common Fund. Touching on Chieftaincy disputes in Kwahu, Mr.. Preko warned that if an amicable solution is not found early, it would be difficult for any meaningful project to go on. The Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr.. Mike Acheampong, appealed to Kwahu citizens to work hard to ensure the rapid development of the area. The occasion coincided with the swearing-in of Mr..
