La-Nkwantanang citizens clean environment

People in La-Nkwantanang-Madina on Saturday embarked on a five-hour clean up exercise as part of the National Sanitation Day.

The Zoomlion, a sanitation management agency, provided a truck to help cart refuse deposited alongside the main roads in the municipality. Bright Waste Company also assisted with a refuse vehicle for the cleaning exercise.

Mr Joseph Quacoe, Municipal Environmental Health Officer, told Ghana News Agency that the Environmental Services Providers Association did not avail itself for the exercise.

He said Municipal Assembly provided 100 wheel barrows, 200 shovels, 100 broomsticks and wellington boots for the cleanup exercise.

The Municipal Chief Executive Mr Franklin Anku and the Municipal Co-ordinating Director Alhaji Saaka Dramani were also present to assist in the exercise.
