Government has slammed the Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) and the Occupy Ghana Group over their latest criticisms against the Mahama administration.
AFAG on Wednesday hit the streets to protest against what they describe as poor economic conditions and corruption under the Mahama administration.
The Occupy Ghana Group also lashed out at government for failing to enforce anti-corruption laws.
Various speakers at the forum including the Head Pastor of the International Central Gospel Church, Dr. Mensa Otabil challenged the President to tackle corruption with the seriousness it deserves.
But Presidential staffer, Dr. Clement Apaak in an interview with Starr News said the groups have a hidden motive of making the government unpopular.
“If you scrutinise very critically, the groups which are serving as a platform for all of these pronouncements of blatant denials about the good work this President is doing in the fight against corruption, it is very clear that there is an attempt to suggest that nothing is working.
“It is the very same people who stand on their high horses, and scream as loud as they do, ask them what have they done in their way; whether it is in the church or the so called middle class organisations that they belong to. What have they done to support the President’s call against corruption?”
