Seth Obeng, unemployed, on Thursday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court, on charges of conspiracy to commit crime, and robbery.

Seth was said to have conspired with another person, now at large, and robbed one Christiana Afua Nyarko, of an amount of GH¢2.00 and two strips of Rhizon and Vitamin C tablets.

He and his accomplice also robbed one Mary Gyewua Akom of her Samsung mobile phone, worth Gh¢250.00, a Bible worth GH¢40.00, a hand bag worth GH¢20.00 and an amount of GH¢1.00.

He said the accused person is unemployed and resides at Gaskia Zongo, near Abossey Okai.

He said on August 7 this year, at about 20:00 hours, the accused person and one other, armed with a pistol and an unregistered motor bike attacked the victims at Swan Lake and Kaneshie Sports Complex and robbed them of the above listed items.

The prosecution said a witness in the case, a taxi driver, who spotted the accused person and his accomplice as they robbed the complainants, assisted in arresting them by pursuing them with a car through the Kaneshie police barracks, where they abandoned the bike and the hand bag with the Bible.

Police Inspector Adu said a report was made to the police who commenced investigations into the case and on October 18, the accused person was arrested from his hide-out at the Accra Post Office.

He said Seth was identified by the victims after his arrest, and upon interrogation, he mentioned the name of his accomplice as Joe, who he is assisting the police to arrest.
