NPP constituency chairman calls for restraint

Mr Atta Amponsah, Chairman of Dormaa-West Constituency branch of New Patriotic Party (NPP) has advised Ghanaians to exercise patience and restraint in the face of economic hardships following recent increase in fuel prices.

He noted that although the increase was high, “it is the only option left for the government to help salvage the economy from collapse”.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the NPP Chairman said although the government inherited a national debt it would not relent in its aim to improve the lives of the people.

“The shock is only temporary since the government is doing everything possible to improve the living standards of the people”.

The constituency chairman appealed to drivers to comply with the 40 per cent increase in transport fares.

On development projects in the district, Mr Amponsah emphasized that Dormaa District had got its fair share under the NPP administration.

He cited the on-going road surfacing project at Dormaa-Ahenkro as a big step taken by the government to raise the town to urban status.
