Mr Nicholas Rocky, a former cadre of the erstwhile Provision National Defence Council, has urged government to support the youth to venture into agriculture.
He said the teaming youth who are roaming around without jobs could be mobilized into smaller farming groups and assisted with lands and funds to take up farming.
Mr Rocky, who is vying for the chairmanship position of the Trobo constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday.
He said some communities in the area have vast farming lands, and that, if he is voted as the chairman, he would help the youth to go into farming to earn some income and make their lives meaningful.
“I will organize the girls to get vocational training while helping traders to access loans to support their businesses.
