Birim Central Assembly to ease traffic at Oda

The Birim Central Municipal Assembly has taken steps to ease traffic on the main road at Akim Oda.

To that end, the assembly is using part of its Urban Development Grant (UDG) to construct a by-pass from the MTTU/Nursing Training School to the main lorry park at Akim Oda.

Mr Owusu Frempong-Boadu, the Muncipal Co-ordinating Director, said the construction of culverts along the road was about 80 percent complete.

He was interacting with GNA Media Auditing and Development Tracking team at Akim Oda.

The GNA, STAR – Ghana Media Auditing and Tracking of Development projects, is an initiative launched to promote accountability and good governance.

Mr Frempong-Boadu said the project, which was initially scheduled to be completed within eight months, could be completed by next month due to the hard work by Messrs Synbec Ghana Limited, the construction firm, working on the project.

Drivers in the Municipality have commended the assembly on its initiative to undertake the project.
