EPA urged to publish the report on whale deaths

Friends of the Nation (FoN), a socio-environmental Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) on Friday called on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to publish its findings on the death of whales and implement solutions to forestall their deaths during this migration season which has already started.

The FoN called on the EPA to release the report gathered by the committee setup to investigate the death of a number of whales along the country’s coastline particularly in the Western Region during the previous migration period of whales which started on August last year.

The call was contained in a press release signed by the Communications Officer and Environmental Advisor to the FoN, Ms Elisabeth Wagner.

According to the release, the committee was expected to report back to the EPA at the end of February this year, but no findings or recommendations have been published yet.

The FoN urged the EPA to make the report public and implement the recommendations to ensure the safety of whales in the country.
