Police arrest man for possession Indian hemp

Police in Upper West Region have arrested a man for possession 35 slabs of a substance suspected to be Indian hemp.

Eriata Kunbabule, 40, was arrested at Dabor, a community in the Wa West District after the police had a tip off that the suspect was trying to smuggle the substance across the border to Cote d’Ivoire.

Briefing the media Assistant Superintendent of Police Edmund Nyamekye, acting Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Upper West Regional Police Command, said the 35 slabs of the suspected Indian hemp would be sent to the Forensic Laboratory in Accra for examination.

He appealed to the public to continue to volunteer information about the activities of those illicit business people to help the police to flush out such people.
