GII praises Martin Amidu over Woyome ‘victory’

The Executive Director of Ghana Integrity Initiative, Vitus Azeem, says former Attorney General Martin Amidu has been vindicated by the Supreme Court ruling on the judgement debt case involving businessman Woyome.

The Court on Tuesday ordered Alfred Agbesi Woyome to refund all monies paid to him by the state in connection with the construction and rehabilitation of projects for CAN 2008.

In an interview with Radio Ghana, Mr. Azeem said the ruling did not come as a surprise to him.

He called on government to be determined enough to retrieve the money, adding that the ruling will help in the fight against corruption.
