Update: N1 accident scene cleared, traffic flowing

The accident scene on the N1 Highway, where a trailer carrying two containers overturned on the highway, has been cleared by the police and traffic is flowing.

Authorities including MTTU personnel were at the scene immediately to control traffic when the accident occurred early Sunday morning, and by the time our reporters got to the scene, the MSC embossed containers were being carted by two heavy cranes and the trailer towed away.

Contrary to earlier reports, the driver of the trailer was present at the scene while the containers and the vehicle were being carted to ease traffic, but not available for comment.

It is still unclear what caused the toppling of the trailer, but the police assured they would make further inquiries to get to the bottom of it, and bring the culprits to book.

Early Sunday morning, a trailer carrying 2 MSC embossed containers heading towards Lapaz on the N1 highway overturned causing a heavy vehicular traffic on the dual carriage route.
