Ghanaians have been urged to see nation building as a challenging task which requires passion from all and sundry.
Overseer Samuel Awudi of the Great Commission Church International, Maranatha Assembly, said no great works can be achieved in the life of any nation without the passion of dedicated leaders who will not compromise the greatness of their vision for profit.
He said passion for an occupation makes people to be less fanatical about their behavior while on their job, resulting in more work being done and more work satisfaction.
Overseer Awudi, who was delivering his Palm Sunday homily at Kanawu in the Tema West Constituency, said Jesus came to die and to save mankind because of the passion he had for humanity, declaring that it is only leaders with passion who can deliver their people from their predicaments.
He said the lack of passion on the part of leadership for the welfare of the people under them makes the people suffer a lot.
He said passion will move people to work hard for fulfillment in their nation, company, church and family, adding that leadership at all levels must be passionate about the well-being of the people.
Overseer Awudi said the lack of passion on the part of people for environmental cleanliness had led to gutters and drains in cities and towns choked with filth, resulting in mosquitoes flourishing and spreading malaria among the people.
He advised Ghanaians to change their attitudes towards work and the environment for the progress of the nation.
Overseer Awudi urged Christians to have passion for the lost souls and to evangelize more aggressively as happenings around the globe point towards Christ’s second coming.
