Homosexuality rising in schools – NUGS

President of National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has expressed worry about the increasing spate of homosexuality in the various senior high schools across the country.

According to Asamoah Benefo Darkwa, the situation is disheartening among single sex schools.

His comment follows a series of media reports on the surge in homosexuality among second circle schools in the country.

Speaking to Radio XYZ’s Ashanti regional correspondent, Isaac Bediako Justice, Mr. Dankwa called on the authorities of various schools to protect first year students from seniors who would try to introduce the practice to them.

He also called on school authorities to expel students who are caught engaging in such acts. “It is a shame for the seniors who are trying to force the younger ones in there…I really wish that the authorities of schools would take this matter up and guard and protect the younger ones”.

Mr. Dankwa also called on government to come out and state the country’s position on homosexuality.
