Kwesiminstim Hospital in dire need of Ultra Sound Scanner

The Kwesiminstim Hospital in the Western Region, is in dire need of Ultra Sound Scanner and an Anesthetic machine to assist in quality healthcare delivery.

The Hospital which serves more than 10 communities in the Ahanta West District, also acts as a first emergency referral point for those rural communities.

Hospital officials said lack of these two machines was affecting quality health delivery, as patients, particularly pregnant women who need scan services, were always referred to other facilities.

Ms. Margaret Annan, Matron of the Hospital made this known to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) when Baker Hughes, an Oil Services Company, donated an Incubator and other hospital supplies totaling 10,500 dollars, to the Kwesiminstim Hospital.

The donation by the company was in fulfillment of a request the hospital made when it presented mosquito nets to the facility sometime ago.

Ms. Elizabeth Adade, Logistic Manageress of Baker Hughes, said the company was able to purchase the equipment through the generous contributions from individuals and companies during a fund raising event.
