Two unemployed remanded for selling wee

An Accra Circuit Court on Monday remanded Yaw Fosu aka Abenkwa and Kwaku Tawiah, both unemployed, in police custody for dealing in narcotic drugs.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty and are to re-appear on December 4.

Mr Dominic Bakomah, Assistant State Attorney, told the court presided over by Mr Francis Obiri that the accused persons are friends, who reside at Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.

He said on August 12, at about 04:30 hours, the second accused (Tawiah) invited the first accused person and supplied him with narcotic drugs confirmed to be cannabis sativa and six boxes of matches to be sold to customers.

He said Fosu sent the stuff to a plantation farm near Amasaman stadium junction believed to belong to Tawiah.

The prosecution said based on a tip off, the Amansaman police patrol arrested the first accused on the farm.

Mr Bakomah said a search conducted on the farm led to the recovery of 77 wraps of cannabis sativa, and the six boxes of matches, three mobile phones and an amount of Ghc18.30p concealed in a black polythene bag.

“Upon interrogation, the first accused admitted ownership and mentioned the second accused persons as his source of supply and led the police to arrest him.”
