Notes for Japanese grant exchanged

The Government of Japan has extended grant aid of up to 116 million yen to the Government of Ghana for the design aspect of the rehabilitation of the Kasoa-Yamoransa road.

Notes to this effect were exchanged in Japan on Friday between Ms. Kazuko Asai, Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, and Mr. J.A. Kufuor, President of Ghana and Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan.

The Government of Ghana drew up the trunk roads rehabilitation programme and made a request to the Government of Japan for a grant aid for funding the Kasoa-Yamoransa road, which is a part (98.2km) of the international trunk road that links West African countries.

Japan is also to support “The Institutional Management System for the Judiciary of Ghana” through UNDP Human Resources Development Fund.
