Kenya: Ghanaian in court today over drugs

A Ghanaian arrested on Saturday night while trafficking drugs at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport will be arraigned in court this morning.

Head of CID at the airport Joseph Ngisa said the 34-year-old was arrested after he displayed peculiar character similar to drug traffickers.

The man was connecting a flight to Benin on arrival from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Ngisa said the suspect was arrested and detained briefly before he emitted 48 pellets of cocaine.

“We still have him under observation. The substance has been taken to the government chemist to know the nature of the drugs,” he said.
