Mayor of London Supports GUBA Awards 2013

Hours to the event launch of the Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards 2013 at the British House of Commons, the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has pledged his support for the GUBA Awards 2013 which will celebrate and award distinguished Ghanaian personalities and businesses in the United Kingdom.

In a letter signed by the Mayor, Mr. Johnson stated that, “London’s diversity is its strength, and the GUBA Awards showcase all that is great about this city. The Awards celebrate the valuable cultural and economic contribution that the British Ghanaian community make to London, while also strengthening the Ghanaian voluntary and community sector.”

He mentioned that, the impact of the GUBA Awards within the African community, supporting and encouraging growth in business, education, sports and entertainment, make it a deserving winner of the International Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Award 2013.

Mayor Boris Johnson also extended his warmest good wishes to the Ghanaian community and the UK and all who are connected with the GUBA awards.
