SC has spoken; let’s get to work and deal with poverty – Nduom

2012 Flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has called on government to quickly get to work to address the ills militating against development in the country.

In a statement on his Facebook Page a few hours after the Supreme Court ruling on Thursday, Dr Nduom asked all to abide by the decision taken by Justice William Atuguba and the other eight Supreme Court justices.

“They have affirmed John D. Mahama as our President,” he stated. “Let’s get to work and deal with poverty, unemployment, indiscipline, disease, etc., etc,” he added.

The former minister of state admitted that: “Politics must not be above everything”.

The Supreme Court affirmed John Dramani Mahama as winner of the 2012 election, dismissing a petition brought before it by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.

Dr Nduom came third in the disputed election after he polled 64,267 votes representing 0.58 per cent of the total valid votes cast.
