Chainsaw operator arrested for murder

Forty-four year-old Iddrisu Buabeng, a chainsaw operator at Sefwi-Miriwa in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District, has been arrested by the police for alleged murder.

He is accused of killing one Kwame Badu.

Buabeng on Friday appeared before the Bibiani Magistrate Court, presided over by Mr Osei Kofi Amoako and remanded into prison custody.

His plea was not taken and was ordered to re-appear on Wednesday, May 15.

Police Detective Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah told the court that the deceased was last seen in the company of Buabeng on April 18, at about 1700 hours at a drinking spot.

The next morning at about 0700 hours, the lifeless body of Badu was found on the outskirts of the town.

The prosecution said a witness in the case who saw the accused riding a motorbike in blood-stained clothes reported him to the police.
