Israel ready to support water sector – Ambassador

Madam Sharon Bar-li, Israeli Ambassador has expressed the readiness of her country to support the water sector with modern and appropriate technology.

She noted that Israel places high premium on water production as 75 per cent of waste water is recycled and used for industrial purposes and agriculture.

Madam Bar-li, who was speaking during a courtesy call on Alhaji Collins Dauda, Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing on Thursday, invited the officials of the Ministry to an upcoming conferences on water management slated for June and October in Israel.

She pledged the readiness of the Embassy to support all sectors of the economy including the private sector.

Madam Bar-Li noted that Ghana and Israel had a solid tradition of corporation even before Ghana gained independence.

She said Israel once trained Ghanaian pilots.

Alhaji Dauda said Ghana’s demand for water far exceeds its generation.

He said Government is committed to end the water crisis that had engulfed the nation, citing illegal water connections as big issues facing the sector.

He expressed satisfaction about Armandi Construction, an Israeli company’s readiness to venture into water production.

Alhaji Dauda said Armandi is a reliable company that delivers on its promises.

He expressed confidence in the deepening of bilateral relations.
