25 suspects of Yilo-Naayili clashes granted bail

Twenty five out of the 29 suspects arrested during the clashes at Yilo-Naayili in the Northern Region have been granted police inquiry bail.

They were arrested and charged for various offences during renewed clashes at Yilo-Naayili, near the Tamale Airport over a parcel of land. The sad incident claimed one life while several others got injured.

The Northern Regional Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh in an interview said, “So far twenty-five people have been granted bail, four persons have been charged for various offences ranging from murder, attempted murder and possessing fire arms without authority.”

“In Nakpanduri the area is calm and so far we haven’t heard any untoward situation and our men have also intensified their patrols around Nakpanduri and its environs,” he added.
