Paintsil’s in-laws in Accra to discuss assault case

Radio XYZ is reporting that the in-laws of the embattled Blacks Stars defender John Paintsil have arrived in Accra to discuss the alleged assault on their daughter.

They travelled from Obuasi in the Ashanti Region to Accra on Saturday morning, the report said.

Greater Accra Police Public Relations Officer, Freeman Tettey, told reporters on Friday that the player had been arrested over allegations of assault on his wife.

Richlove Paintsil fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital, the police added.

But Mrs Paintsil in a swift response flatly denied the reports, saying “this is strictly a domestic affair” and must be treated as such.

The deputy Black Stars skipper after the arrest on Friday afternoon was later granted bail in the evening.

The cause of the scuffle is still sketchy, as the pair is determined to amicably resolve the issue.
