Auditor–General tenders documents to Judgement Debt Commission

The Auditor-General on Tuesday submitted two main documents to the Commission on Judgement Debt at its first sitting for the year in Accra. The documents included Ghana at 50 and the National Vocational Institute Auditor General forensic reports.

Mr. Yaw Agyei Sefa, Deputy Auditor–General in charge of Performance and Special Audit Department who submitted the reports also provided the Public Board, Corporations and other institutions reports and statement of Foreign Exchange and Receipts Payment to the Commission.

According to Mr. Sefa, the Public Boards, Corporations and other Institutions’ report and the statement of Foreign Exchange and Receipts Payment from the Bank of Ghana are to support the Commission in its work.

Mr. Kwesi Bentsil Antwi, Chief Valuer in charge of Compensation Schedule at the Lands Commission who appeared before the Commission, asked for more time to enable the Commission to dig for more information.

He gave the assurance that the Lands Commission would be in a position to provide the necessary documents to the Judgement Debts Commission in February. Mr. Justice Yaw Apau, sole Commissioner of Judgement Debt Commission, said the Commission would not hesitate to call on the Auditor General to do more forensic reports for the Commission after it had gone through the documents.

The commissioner was happy that all stakeholders were cooperating with the Commission, saying “this is a national duty and all must cooperate”.

The Ministry of Finance, Solicitor General and Controller and Accountant General would take their turns on Wednesday, January 16.
