Bolgatanga, Aug 15, – TheSecretary-General of the Ghana Red Cross Society (GRCS), Mr Anthony Gyedu-Adomako, has expressed concern about the rate at which the youth write to foreign societies for favours. Mr Gyedu-Adomako said GCRS receives about five letters a day referred to it from foreign societies. He was speaking at a two-day workshop for policy makers of the society at Bolgatanga. He said the writers of such letters ask for pens, pencils and financial help claiming that they are orphans. The Secretary-general explained that the International Red Cross Society (IRCS) does not rpt not deal with individuals and urged the youth to desist from such acts saying, “it is a source of embarrassment to the GCRS”. Dr Joseph Amankwah, the regional chairman, who closed the workshop, said he expected participants to carry out their work efficiently after the workshop.
