Volunteers For Mamaha asks National Coordinator to step aside

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of Volunteers for Mahama (VFM) has asked its National Coordinator, Mawutor Agbavitor, to step aside from his post.

This, according to the group, will facilitate the investigations into the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and the VFM saga.

The decision followed an Executive Committee meeting called to discuss a media report on Monday, November 26, which published a signed cheque from the GIPC to VFM.

A press statement issued by the Director of Operations of VFM, Charles Nkansah, on Thursday, said the decision followed an Executive Committee meeting called to discuss the report.

According to the media report, GIPC provided funds for the political campaign activities of the group. In its initial report, the group refuted the allegations.

The statement expressed the assurance of NEC to its members and the public that matter would be resolved appropriately.

VFM pledged to remain focused in their activities of mobilizing volunteers across the nation to ensure a “one touch victory”, President John Dramani Mahama during the December 7, general election.
