Amissah-Arthur finally picks up 1980 masters certificate

In a bid to prove his critics wrong, the Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has finally picked up his MSc. Economics Degree certificate from the University of Ghana.

The Vice President promised to pick up his certificate from the university upon his return from the Brong Ahafo region where he was campaigning.

He completed his MSc. Economics Degree in 1980 but had failed to pick up his certificate because according to him it was not necessary.

The Young Patriots group of the NPP raised the debate of his certificate after they alleged that the Vice President forged his 1980 MSc. Economics Degree from Legon.

They added that the CV of Mr. Amissah-Arthur was also forged and that his name was not in the year group of 1980 or was the University aware of his graduation.

The Vice President in a response stated that he found it not necessary to go for his certificate since Professors at the time were aware of the works that he had done.

Addressing Journalists after he picked up his certificate at the University of Ghana, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur said “this is a storm in a tea cup. There is such as obsession about paper certificate that, for somebody who’s worked in this university, people could doubt that the certificate was not genuine or that the qualification was not genuine. Well now, we have come, I have collected it so everybody has seen that there actually was a certificate.”
