AKUFO-ADDO CONGRATULATES PROF ALABI

It gives me great pleasure to learn that my friend Professor Joshua Alabi has been appointed the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, after serving as Rector of the same institution since January 1, 2009.

Professor Alabi and I served together in the Second Parliament of the Fourth Republic from 1997 to 2001, and, although we found ourselves on opposite sides of the political divide in the House, we readily struck up a good relationship that has remained till date.

I am confident that he will rise up to the challenge and excel in his new role and I wish him well.
