NPP Suspends Eight Members

The Ashaiman Constituency of the ruling New Patriotic Party has suspended eight of its members including three executives for allegedly associating with other political parties.

Two others, were cautioned after they had confessed they associated with other political parties. All the affected members were also accused of bribery during the last presidential and parliamentary elections.

The executive members include Organiser James Ackah, Secretary Baba Abdulai, and Women’s Organiser Mrs Awudi. The executive members have been suspended for two years while the other members are on a year’s suspension.

MP for Ashaiman, Emmanuel Teye says the decision was based on the recommendation of a committee set up to investigate the allegation and urged them to hand over all party property in their possession.
