EC to meet eight Presidential candidates Tuesday

The Electoral Commission says it has scheduled a meeting with the Presidential candidates on Tuesday as part of its efforts towards ensuring free and fair elections devoid of rancour.

All the eight Presidential candidates have been invited to the meeting.

The Commission’s Public Relations Officer Christian Owusu Parry in an interview with XYZ News said the meeting will discuss various issues relating to the conduct of the election and behaviour of political parties and their supporters.

“It is part of the stakeholder interaction we have been having all this while” Mr. Owusu Parry said.

He added that “anytime we are about to go into elections, we meet the parties and the candidates so that we let them know what is entailed in the elections and how they can educate their supporters to bring about peaceful elections”.
