Paul Mante, self-employed who razed to the ground a three-bedroom house, valued at GH?11,332, a property of a Switzerland-based Akim Oda native, has been remanded in prison custody by a circuit court at Akim Swedru.
Two other accomplices, Emmanuel Broni Asare, 79, pensioner and Nana Kakari Appau, 84, a farmer, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and causing unlawful damage and were asked by the court to produce a surety each for their bail.
Police Inspector Kwadwo Ahenkorah said Madam Regina Aitee, the complainant, is a sister to Mr. James Lynn Aitee now in Switzerland and that the complainant and her husband live with the accused persons at Akim Oda.
Inspector Ahenkorah said about eight years ago, Mr. Aitee purchased one plot of land for GH?2,600 at Amantra in Akim Oda from one Nana Akyea Mensah II from Akim Oda Old Town.
He said Mr. Aitee built a three-bedroom house on it and entrusted the building to the care of his sister, Regina and her husband, Mr. Christian Sarkordee, before travelling back to Switzerland.
Inspector Ahenkorah said in March Regina and Mr. Sarkordee visited the site and saw that the project on the land had been pulled down.
They made a report to the Police and upon intensive investigations, the accused persons were arrested.
