Youth advised to lead exemplary lives

Reverend Isaac Nana Abakah, Director of Youth Ministry of the Methodist Church, has advised Christian Youth to lead principled, pious and exemplary lives in the society.

He said they should repudiate corruption, greed, vindictiveness, arrogance, lies and anything evil. They should also have empathy for the poor and learn to forgive and show love to all.

Rev. Abakah gave the advice in Tamale at the end of a three-day conference organized by the Youth Ministry within the Methodist Church of Ghana.

The conference, which was on the theme, “Be Ready to Make Your Defense” brought together about 4732 delegates nationwide to take stock of the group’s activities and strategize for the last quarter of the year.

As part of the conference, participants were taken through various talks on how to live by the basic tenet of the Christianity faith such as love, obedience, humility, respect and patience.

Rev. Abakah urged the congregation to preach to people about the good news of God to draw unbelievers to God’s fold.

He said if the youth were able to play their role in the country, it would facilitate peace, harmony and development, especially during the December elections.

Mrs. Rosemond Agyeman, Diocesan Lay Chairman of the Northern Ghana Diocese, appealed to the youth, especially the young women to acquire skills to boost their income generation to support their families.

She paid tribute to the late President Mills and called on Ghanaians to emulate his humility and peaceful nature and help preserve and ensure peace in the December elections.
