New York National Council Mourns Late President Atta Mills

The Board of Directors, Executives and Members of the National Council of Ghanaian Associations join with the Ghanaian immigrant community in the United States to offer our deepest condolences and sympathy on the passing of our President His Excellency Prof John Atta Mills.
Although it is little consolation at this difficult time, it should be of some satisfaction to know that in his passing we can celebrate the end of a very productive personal and public life.
The measure of our late President’s greatness lies not in the politics of his days but in the humane and deeply spiritual contents of a character by which he touched the lives of millions.
We are deeply saddened by his loss. However If the outpouring of sympathy and condolences on his loss is any indication, and it most certainly is, we can proudly and confidently say that his indeed was a life well-lived.
We wish to convey to his family the government and people of our dear country Ghana, our hope and prayer that we may all find the peace and comfort he labored so hard to bring to us.
In addition, we extend our congratulations and good wishes to His Excellency John Mahama on his installation to the exalted office of President. We are supremely confident and assured of his capacity to successfully steer Ghana towards a land of freedom, peace, harmony and equal opportunities for all.
