Nandom Citizens inaugurate Youngsters Club in Bolgatanga.

The Nandom Youngsters club, an association of young men from Nandom in the Upper West Region, has been inaugurated in Bolgatanga over the weekend.

The Youngsters Club which is also known as “Nandom Polle”, is aimed at promoting the development of Nandom as well as fostering unity among other sister branches in all regions.

Mr. Martin Bunu-ire, President of the club in his welcome address, urged members to work together to promote the union and support each other in times of difficulties.

He said the branches in other regions have grown from strength to strength because they worked in unity and assured that, the branch would be dedicated and committed to hard work.

He said the club started with five people in July 2010, and currently had a membership of 50. He mentioned challenges confronting the club as finance and irregular attendance to meetings by members.

Mr. Pius Sangyare, a representative from the Tamale Branch of the club, urged them to work hard and not to relent on their efforts especially in ensuring that, they served as a catalyst to the growth of their mother union known as the Nandom Area Development Association.

He reiterated the role of the youth in the development of Nandom saying that, Development was multifaceted and went beyond the provision of physical infrastructure.

He said development dealt with human, political, social and economic dimensions, which included developing one’s competence, attitude and mind set. He noted that these could be achieved through advocacy and networking.

Mr. Sangyare urged them to be regular at meetings and take part in all activities of the Nandom Area Development Association.**
