The New Patriotic Party (NPP) and I, join many other well wishers across the world, in congratulating newly elected President of the Republic of France, M. Francois Hollande, on his victory in the democratic elections held in France over the weekend.
Mr Hollande’s election is not only a victory for French democracy but also a victory for all democratic forces in the world. The people of France have once again widened the frontiers of democracy for all others to continue to emulate, especially those who seek change for a brighter future.
I also congratulate the outgoing President of France, M. Nicolas Sarkozy, for his dedicated service to the French people, acknowledging also his efforts in helping deepen ties between France and Ghana, and the rest of Africa.
It is my hope that Mr Hollande would continue in the stead of past leaders of the great French nation in deepening the ties between France and Ghana, and the entire African continent.
