“Pray For Election 2012”-Naadu Mills

Ghana’s First Lady, Dr.
Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills has called on all Ghanaians to pray for the country
as we head towards the polls in December to ensure peace reigns supreme before,
during and after the polls.
The First Lady made
the call when she joined a congregation at the Calvary Presbyterian Church,
Haatso near Accra to worship. She advised the church to instill the culture of
praying in their children and urged them to consider the country in their prayers
especially as this year’s elections draws near.
The service, which
formed part of the commissioning of a new church complex for the Calvary Presbyterian
Church was attended by the First Lady as the Guest of Honor. She unveiled a
plague to officially open the Church complex.
The ultra modern
edifice has the capacity to host hundreds of people at the same time. It has
all the modern gadgets that will facilitate the churches’ activities.
Dr. Naadu Mills charged
the congregation to surrender their lives to Christ if they have not done so
and also appealed to them to impart family values into their children. She
maintained that the family is biggest
unit of the society.
Rt. Rev. Prof. Emmanuel
Martey, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana
commended the First Lady for honoring their invitation and also expressed
appreciation to the members of the Calvary Congregation for their contribution
and their support in putting up the complex for God’s work.
He said working to
facilitate the worshipping of God is a responsibility of all Christians which
comes with a reward.
