Registration Officials feted at Abonsuama in B/A by political parties

Political party representatives at registration centres at Abonsuamu electoral area in Sunyani on Tuesday feted the registration officials to show appreciation for their impressive performance.

The delighted officials were given a treat of ‘fufu’ and dried fish (adwene) light soup for their lunch.

Mr Ahenkan Sekyere, registration officer in charge of the area thanked the agents for “the surprise package”, saying: “In fact they have really made our day special with this unprecedented gesture.”

“This third phase of the exercise has been very boring as we have while away the time by playing indoor games like draught with the party agents”, he said.

The registration officer intimated that if such cordial co-operation and support from party agents and other stakeholders are maintained, “we shall have a clean voters’ register at the end of the exercise”.

Mr Sekyere urged the party agents to continue exhibiting such attitude and extend it to the fourth and final phase of the exercise.

He called on all eligible voters who have not registered to do so during the last and fourth phase, to enable them to exercise their franchise in the general election in December.**
