Parents and teachers urged to assist pupils to develop their potentials

Ms Ann Maria Polloc, Director of Medasi Foundation, a Scottish based non-governmental organisation (NGO), has urged parents and teachers to assist pupils to develop their scientific potentials.

This, she said would enable them to become leading scientists to contribute to the country’s development.

She said her three months teaching of Science at the Catholic Primary School at Asakraka, had shown that the children had lots of scientific potentials and if assisted to develop the skills could contribute to the country’s development.

Ms Polloc made the call at the inauguration of nine classroom blocks, a library, computer laboratory and an assembly hall estimated at 40,000 Pound Sterling for the Asakraka Roman Catholic Primary school in the Kwahu South District on Friday.

She urged parents to have interest in their children’s education and provide them with all their educational needs.

Ms Polloc commended the Headteacher and staff of the school for their support and cooperation, which had seen the project complete on time.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkawkaw, Mr Seth Adjei Baah, commended the foundation for the gesture and advised parents and teachers to contribute their quota towards the education of their wards.

He promised to donate two computers and their accessories to the school.

The MP for Mpraeso, Mr Seth Acheampong said, education plays important role in the development agenda of every country.

Mr Acheampong promised to donate two computers and their accessories to the school.

The Chief of Asakraka, Nana Somuah Mireku Nyampong III, thanked the foundation for the gesture.

He later installed Ms Polloc as the Nkosuohemaaa of the community.**
