Accra, Aug 7, GNA – Mr Abdul Rashid Sambo, a Research Fellow at the Ghana Muslim Academy (GMA), at the weekend advised Muslim women to dress decently to reflect the principles of Islam and to be attracted to their prospective husbands.
He noted that decent dressing could strategically attract men even though not exclusively because it is possible for a lady with bad attitude to dress well.
Mr Sambo was speaking at an Annual Ramadan lectures by the GMA in Accra, on the theme: 93Strategic Communal Cohesion, Inclusiveness – the Wa= y Forward for Muslims in Ghana”, to educate the public about Islam with reference to the fasting season of blessing. He said Islamic organizations needed to develop a clear strategy to help in the management of their programmes. Mr Sambo said the Qur’an supports strategic planning and cited that Moses a strategist, who led the nation of Israel out of Egypt, had to struggle with his role as a leader.
He said Moses’ father-in-law Jethro understood his (Moses) plight an= d taught him strategic human resource planning thus how delegate work to a well-established hierarchy. Mr Sambo Muslims needed strategic planning for the growth and development of Islam. He called on leaders to challenge the status quo, change the behaviour= s of people and implement new ideas. He called for a non-sectarian, dispassionate, unbiased national conference to discuss the improvement of collection of data on Muslims, to promote entrepreneurial development, education. Mr Alhassan Assong, Minister of state at the Presidency, called on Muslims community to use dialogue in resolving their differences, especiall= y in the month of Ramadan. He call on them to unite, avoid greed and discrimination saying 93uni= ted we stand divided we fall.”
Mr Assong appealed to Muslim leaders to 91walk their talk’ by const= antly practicing what they preach to their followers. Mr Nurudeen Alhassan, President of GMA, said the objective of the lecture was to sensitize the public on issues affecting day to day spiritual, political, economic and social development of Muslims. He said the lectures would be in four sections scheduled from Aug 7, 14, 21 and 28, at the Ghana National Association of Teachers Hall and appealed to all Muslims to be part of lectures.
