Korea to support Ghanas power grid expansion

Korea will support Ghana’s power grid expansion by providing a $67 million loan. According to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, this loan will be used to construct a 185-kilometer power transmission line.

The country hopes to be able to supply electrical power to most of Africa by the year 2020.

Also, the Korea government plans to support Ghana by constructing a smart grid direct load control system. This Korean-developed technology is a utility for controlling electricity use in an environmentally-friendly way.
