Yamoah Ponko confirmed as MCE for Ejisu-Juaben

Ejisu-Juaben (Ash), May 27, GNA – Mr Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, the President’s nominee for Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position, has received the endorsement of the Assembly.

He polled 65 out of the 67 votes cast.

Mr Yamoah Ponko, a former Ashanti Regional Manager of the National Health Insurance Authority, replaces Mr Mohammed Boakye Agyemang, who was removed from office, about seven months ago.

He thanked the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work together with them to inject pace into the development of the Municipality.

Earlier, Dr Kwaku Agyemang Mensah, Regional Minister, reminded the assembly to remain focused on the job of bringing progress to the people. He urged the members not to allow unhealthy partisan politics to distract them from the goal of helping to make life better for the people they were representing.
