Pastors and church workers in Sampa and Jaman go to school

Sampa (B/A) May 18, GNA – Destiny Kids World, a Sunyani-based Christian non-governmental organization, on Monday began a three-day intensive training seminar for pastors, church leaders and church workers at Sampa in the Jaman North District of the Brong Ahafo region. The seminar is aimed at equipping the participants with the requisite skills and knowledge to get them abreast of modern ways of propagating the Gospel and to also help solve challenges in contemporary society especially among children and the youth.

Mr. Blessed Emmanuel Asum, Executive Director of the NGO, expressed regret that social vices especially indiscipline had gained grounds in society and gradually eaten deep into the church. He described such ills as worrying hence the need to upgrade the skills of the participants to help combat such vices. The director deplored indecent dressing among the youth especially girls saying 93the rate at which the youth of today parade their nakedness on the streets without shame or fear” was very worrisome.

Mr. Asum urged the clergy to educate the youth on the need to dress properly to preserve the dignity and respect the church had gained over the years. He implored church leaders to endeavour to inculcate in the youth moral uprightness and advised the youth to eschew all forms of unhealthy lifestyle that could ruin their future. Mr. Asum pleaded with the youth to take their education serious in order to prepare well for future. The participants were taken through topics such as 93leading a child to Christ”, 93knowing today’s child”, as well as 93Bible lesson preparation and presentation and the use of 93visual aids in teaching”.
