Western Regional Minister inspects ongoing projects in Ahanta West

Agona Nkwanta(W/R), Feb. 8, GNA 97 The Western Regional Minister, Mr Paul Evans Aidoo, has inspected some on-going projects in the Ahanta West District, as part of his tour of the Region.

The projects were being funded with the District Development Fund, the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GET-Fund) and the District Assemblies Common Fund. Some of the projects inspected by the Minister included classroom blocks at Princess Akatakyie, Bokoro, Asemaba, Yaakor and Agona Nwanta, as well as a sea defence project at Dixcove.

At the Baidoe Bonsu Senior High School, the Minister performed a groun= d breaking ceremony for the construction of a boys’ dormitory. The project costs GHc117,000 and is expected to be completed in six months. The Minister also inaugurated a Community Information Centre at Agona Nkwanta. The centre has an internet facility and is stocked with 30 computers to serve the general public and the students of Ahanta West District. While commenting the road network in the District, the Regional Minister said the Regional Coordinating Council would review the contracts awarded to contractors and those that were not fulfilling their contract obligations would have their projects re-awarded to new contractors.
