vaccination against neglected animal diseases to be Launched

Wa, Nov. 22, GNA – The Veterinary Services Directorate of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture will on Tuesday, November 23, launch a project that is aimed at preventing animal diseases that have been neglected. The project which would be launched at an inception workshop at Wa, would focus on vaccinating animals, especially poultry, against these so called neglected diseases.

A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture at Wa on Monday said the vaccination programme would involve vaccination campaigns against Newcastle disease among local poultry within the Upper West, Upper East and Northern regions. It said the Northern part of Ghana had been selected together with the Republic of Togo, Burkina Faso and Benin because of the movement of people and live poultry across their common borders. 22 Nov. 10
