Ghana Consul in Uganda To Begin Issuing Visas

TOM Buruku, the Honourary Ghana Consul to Uganda will start issuing visas from his Heritage Park office on the Kampala-Entebbe road.

Paul Badu Antwi, the minister Counsellor at the Ghana embassy in Addis Ababa, announced this on Tuesday at a party hosted for him by the Ghanaian community in Kampala.

Antwi said he came to deliver the instruments to the consul who was appointed last year.

Uganda and Kenya are the only two East African countries where Ghana operates consular offices.

“The last time Ghana visas were issued in Uganda was in early 80s but since we closed our mission here due to economic reasons, we have been issuing visas from Addis Ababa,” Antwi said. He said although Uganda and Ghana have low business transactions he was optimistic they would now improve. Ends
