Boadua (E/R), Aug 24, GNA – The Living Stone International School at Boadua near Akwatia has celebrated its 10th anniversary with advice to parents to take the education of their children seriously.
The Eastern Regional Deputy Minister, Mr Baba Jamal, said education was the golden key that opened the doors of success, progress and development.
Ghanaians should therefore spend whatever they have, make every sacrifice in order that their children had the best possible education.
He expressed regret that many people did not make education a priority in their scheme of things and said such attitude hindered national progress.
The proprietor of the school, Mr Kwawu Johnson, said the school, which started with nine pupils, now has 600 pupils.
It has a cr=E8che, nursery, kindergarten, primary and Junior High School and there were plans to establish a Senior High School.
Mr Johnson said the school was performing well academically, winning quiz competitions organized by the district and regional levels.
The first batch of students presented for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in 2009 secured 100 percent passes with aggregate six as the highest grade and 16 as the lowest, placing second in the Akwatia-Boadua area and eighth in the Kwaebibirem District.
