Kill Me If I Don’t Turn Things Around – Wayo

The Leader and Founder of the United Renaissance Party (URP), Kofi Wayo, says considering his savoir faire in international oil transactions if he is given the mandate to be in charge of Ghana’s oil field, he can manage it better than anybody else.

According to him, he possess enough expertise and technical knowledge in the oil business, after over three decades of being in the industry, hence his comments.

In an interview during PeaceFM News@Midday, “Chuck” as Mr. Wayo is affectionately called, who accused the country’s leaders of having “sold off all our resources and properties, refused to disclose how he intends to make the country maximize its gains from the discovered oil.

“For Five hundred years we’ve been mining Gold…we are the factories?…I’m not going to reveal secrets, when you go to war…that’s the problem with the black man, always talk, talk…we had Gold Fields, Ghana Airways, Aboso Glass Factory, Black Starline…our leaders have squandered the monies gained from selling off all these assets…these resources have been frittered away…Fortunately for us we now have an oil field and we must ensure that we benefit from it because for years now we have been digging gold but we have nothing to show for it, all because those managing it don’t know what they are doing,” he stated.

According to him, if he is given the chance to manage Ghana’s Oil, he will be able to turn things around within 18months because of his technical know-how. The maverick politician said he will provide thousands of employment opportunities, whilst also ensuring that the frequent power trips being experienced in the country completely ceases.

“If I am not able to turn things round within 18 months, I should be killed,” he added.
