Aflao, July 25, GNA – A 30-year old farmer , who sneaked into the farm of another person and raped his bird scare employee, aged 15, impregnating her in the process, has been jailed five years in hard labour by an Aflao circuit court.
Dotse Kumordzi Tsifoteh pleaded guilty.
His plea for leniency with the promise to cater for the victim was however ignored by the court presided over by Mr Francis Obiri.
Mr Akwesi Asafo-Agyei, Dzodze District Police commander told the court that the victim, an orphan, lived with her aunt at Klenormadi while the suspect lived at Morkope, both near Dzodze.
He said sometime early this year, Tsifoteh sneaked into a rice farm in the Afife Rice Irrigation fields, where the victim was engaged to scare away birds and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her on the bare ground.
Mr Asafo-Agyei said the victim, who did not disclose the ordeal, however, became pregnant and subsequently revealed Tsifoteh’s conduct.
