Agona East district Assembly exceeds revenue

Agona Nsaba (C/R), Dec. 30, GNA – The Agona East District Assembly exceeded its revenue generation in 2009 by about 20 percent, the District Chief Executive, Mr John Oremus Arko, has said. Speaking at an assembly meeting on Tuesday, Mr Arko said out of a budgeted income of 56,875,98 Ghana cedis for 2009, the assembly was able to collect 63,961.40 Ghana cedis as at October ending.

He said the success story was because of prudent fiscal interventions initiated by management of the Assembly, adding that the Assembly hoped to do better next year as more economic interventions would be initiated. Mr Arko said the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) allocation for the first quarter was 29832.68 Ghana cedis but the actual money received was 153,659.85″.

He said the second quarter allocation was 290,345.29 Ghana cedis but only 58,891.88 Ghana cedis was received. 3
